- COMMUNITY
ACCESS STUDIO

- COMMUNITY ACCESS STUDIO offers access
to the spacious TIGA facility on Saturdays (noon-5pm) and on
Wednesdays by appointment (1-4pm and 6-9pm), with a glass master
present to facilitate. You can now access customized instruction,
kilns, equipment and tools during ACCESS hours. We offer a wide
range of options to choose from during ACCESS time.

- Our new PUNCH CARD makes
it easy to enjoy Community Access Studio at a discounted price.
The 10-hour card is $135 and entitles the card-holder to a 10%
discount on glass and workshops. The 20-hour card is $270 and
entitles the card-holder to a 15% discount on glass and workshops.
The card entitles the holder to hours of Basic Studio Usage,
not Assisted or Private Instruction time. Firing fees are not
included in the punch card plan.

- The MONTHLY PLAN
rewards artists wanting to utilize TIGA on a regular monthly
basis and wanting more than just Basic Rental. Firing fees and
additional services are not included in the monthly plans, but
may be purchased upon use. Some plans include firing discounts.

- Saturday usage does
not require an appointment, but we do reserve the right to close
on Saturday for special events, so it is best to call ahead to
ensure usage. For all other times, we require a 24 hour advance
notice to be able to accommodate your special time.

- STUDIO TIME
BASIC STUDIO RENTAL:
$15/hr. base rate
Basic Studio rental is available to all professional and student
glass artists. In order to utilize the studio at the base rate
with no assistance, you must be approved by a TIGA director.
Having attended specified TIGA classes or competent prior knowledge
and experience in glass is a prerequisite.
STUDIO ASSISTED:
base rate + $10/hr.
Studio Assisted rental is required of those professionals and
students whom have not yet been signed off by a TIGA director.
This level enables you to be assisted in finding tools and supplies
and helps with basic recommendations for your project, thus enhancing
your TIGA studio experience. The assistant will not be overlooking
your work all the time, but will be available for light help
when needed. This level does not include any instruction. You
must be knowledgeable in the basics of your project.
PRIVATE
INSTRUCTION: base rate + $35/hr.
Private instruction gives you one-on-one assistance at the TIGA
studio. With this level of rental, you do not need to understand
your project. TIGA will help you realize your project and you
will learn along the way. You may request a specific instructor,
but this requires pre-scheduling with that instructor.

- PRIVATE
WORKSHOP: Price quoted per request.
Private instruction is also available by appointment for groups
of 2 or more people. The workshop can either be project or technique
oriented and is available in many glass disciplines. If you have
a special group, are planning a party, or are seeking a corporate
experience, let TIGA assist you in realizing your goals in an
art glass experience. Or if you see a class that you and friends
would like to take, but the date doesn't work out, we will assist
you in scheduling your own private workshop.
TIGA STUDIO TOUR - GLASS EXPERIENCE WORKSHOP: $50
This four hour course, available every Thursday 1-5pm or by appointment,
will give the student the background needed to enter any of TIGA's
glass workshops. We will start with a tour of the TIGA facility,
explaining the different glass supplies, processes and equipment
available to you through TIGA. Then, we will launch into some
hands on experience: proper and safe handling of glass and how
to successfully cut, clean and prep the glass for a project.
Come to TIGA and explore the wide range of creativity in glass
available to you to start your projects with no fear!
COLD-WORKING RENTAL:
base + $5/hr for basic use. Extensive use will be quoted per
project. You must complete the TIGA Basic Cold-Working Certification
Course in order to utilize our cold-working shop.
BASIC COLD-WORKING CERTIFICATION: $15
Cold-Working Basics is a simple workshop and prerequisite to
introduce those who will be accessing the TIGA cold-working shop.
It will cover the maintenance and safety precautions associated
with small cold working equipment. Specific use and care of TIGA's
available equipment will also be covered. The tools generally
used in cold working glass are grinders, belt sanders, lap machines,
glass saws, ring saws as well as a variety of hand tools. Cold
working is an essential part of creating objects in glass.

- KILN TIME
- BASIC
FUSING/SLUMPING: .05/sq inch.
- Basic firings are purchased by the square
inch of kiln space that your work(s) is filling in the kiln.
If you do not take up the entire kiln, your work(s) may not be
fired the same day, so we recommend planning plenty of time to
complete your project. Kiln space is allotted on a first come,
first serve basis. Advance reservations are accepted with a deposit.
Payment for the full kiln's capacity does guarantee immediate
firing if you are on a tight deadline and calling ahead to make
a reservation is highly recommended in this case.

- CASTING
AND LENGTHY or MULTIPLE FIRINGS are quoted per project. Advance
reservations are required for these types of projects.
