2012 TAOS ART GLASS INVITATIONAL OFFICIAL OPENING!
DAVID ANTHONY FINE ART
The 2012 Taos Art Glass Invitational officially opens at David Anthony Fine Art on Kit Carson Road. This special exhibition presents the works of this year's guest invited artists alongside the top nine artists from the juror's selection.

BOLD WOMEN - TRANLUSCENT EXPRESSIONS OPENS!
RC GORMAN'S NAVAJO GALLERY
This historical exhibition, curated by Ruth Dobbins, will lead you on an exploration of the remarkable women artists who pioneered the studio art glass movement in New Mexico. Dobbins is the long-time owner of Aliento Glassworks and School which resides South of Santa Fe. She, herself, has been instrumental in the shaping of the studio glass movement in New Mexico.

with FEATURED NM ARTIST DEBORAH KLEZMER
Pert of the Remarkable Women in Glass Celebration, Klezmer will discuss her motivation for a new series based on historical women who defied conventional ideas of feminitiy to make major contributions to society. Discussion will include fabrication process as well as the artist's journey as a writer and editor of women's historical biography to visual artist.

10 - 6 PM - PRINTING ON GLASS, a workshop with KRISTIN THIELKING AND KEVEN BRUNETT -
TIGA: TAOS INSTITUTE FOR GLASS ARTS
Artists will learn to create both physical and conceptual depth in glass through the layering of imagery and text. We will use both hot-casting and glass fusing methods combined with two techniques for translating imagery onto the glass surface in this workshop.

In celebration of ISEA2012 Taos Day, "Recycling Light" is an opportunity to watch artists working in glass: artists will be casting recycled glass and making sand molds for the Friday evening hot -glass pour at "Light Up the Night" on Taos Plaza (Friday). Exhibiting glassblowers will thrill you with their teamwork and dexterity as they create out of molten light while student artists from Kristin Thielking's workshop, Printing on Glass, will be pouring hot glass to encase their printed works that evening. Walking On Glass galleries will be open late for viewing.
